Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 25, 2026. This policy explains what Upskill (a product of JobBolster Inc.) collects, what stays on your device, and the choices you have. Short version: our tools are designed so that nothing you type into them ever leaves your browser.

1. What we collect

We do not collect the content you enter into our tools. Every calculator, checklist, plan generator and matcher on this site runs 100% in your browser using local JavaScript. Your answers, resumes, job descriptions and plans are never uploaded to our servers and are not stored by us.

We do not require accounts, logins or email addresses to use any tool.

2. Local storage on your device

To remember your choices between visits, we use your browser's LocalStorage. This data never leaves your device. It includes:

• Favorites — the list of tools and articles you bookmarked (key jb_favs).
• Learning plans and practice progress — checked items in your daily plan and interview practice (keys starting with jb_plan_, jb_practice_).
• Tool preferences — e.g. your selected region in the severance calculator (jb_sev_region).
• Cookie consent choice — whether you accepted or declined our consent notice (jb_cookie_consent).

How to clear it: use your browser's "Clear site data" / "Clear storage" option, or remove individual keys via developer tools. Clearing storage resets favorites and plans but does not affect the site itself.

3. Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. These cookies let Google and its partners measure ad performance and show you relevant ads.

Our ad and analytics scripts only load after you accept our consent notice (see section 7). If you decline, no advertising or analytics scripts load while you browse.

4. Analytics (Google Analytics)

If enabled (after consent), we may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages are visited and roughly from where. This is anonymous, aggregated usage data; we do not combine it with anything that identifies you personally.

5. Your choices about advertising and analytics

• You can also decline our cookie banner at any time — your choice is stored locally and third-party scripts stay unloaded.

6. European Economic Area, UK and California residents

EEA and UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. Since we collect no personal data through our tools, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority at any time.

California (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to opt out of "sales" or "sharing" of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not collect personal data through our tools. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

7. Consent notice and third-party scripts

On your first visit we show a consent notice. Until you accept, no advertising or analytics scripts are loaded. If you accept, Google AdSense and (if enabled) Google Analytics may load in line with sections 3 and 4. You can change your choice by clearing your site storage.

8. Children's privacy

Upskill is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
