About Upskill by JobBolster
Upskill is a free, browser-based library of AI skills training for people whose jobs don't require code. We focus on administrative assistants, HR professionals, marketers, operations and customer-support staff, salespeople and finance teams — the roles where AI is changing how work gets done long before it replaces the person doing it.
Why we built this
Most AI training is written for developers or sold as expensive courses. Meanwhile, an admin who learns to summarize meetings and draft documents with AI can save several hours a week, and an HR generalist who uses AI for first drafts of job descriptions can cut a hiring workflow from days to hours. The gap between "AI is coming" and "here is exactly what to do on Monday morning" is where most non-technical professionals get stuck. We built Upskill to close that gap.
Who we are
Upskill is published by a small editorial team with backgrounds in HR operations, office administration and AI tooling. Between us we have worked in staffing, corporate operations and product support, and we have spent the past two years testing AI tools on real office workflows. Every tool and article on this site is based on work we have actually done — drafting job posts, running onboarding, cleaning spreadsheets, negotiating offers — not on tool demos.
Our editorial standards
- Fact-checked. Numbers, legal rules and pay figures are checked against official sources before publication. Where a topic is legally sensitive — severance, workplace monitoring, employment rights — we cite the underlying law or government source and add a clear disclaimer.
- Honest about uncertainty. Where rules differ by state or country, or where free tools change their limits, we say so instead of giving one confident number.
- Practical first. Every guide ends with a concrete next step: a checklist, a script, or a tool you can open right now.
- No paywalls. All 32 tools are free, unlimited and run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded to our servers.
How often we update
We review tool recommendations every quarter (free tiers change often) and update legal-related articles whenever rules or official guidance change. Each article carries its publish date so you can judge freshness at a glance.
Editorial team and review process
Every page on Upskill is written and reviewed in-house. Tool pages are checked against the tool's actual behaviour before publication: the worked examples, the guidance on reading your result, and the limitations section are written from real use rather than generated from a single template.
- Maya Chen — Workplace AI Editor. Leads our coverage of AI in HR, office administration and operations, and reviews the worked examples, edge cases and limitations on every tool page.
- Editorial review. Numbers, legal rules and pay figures are checked against the official sources linked on the page before publication, and re-checked when a rule or a tool's free tier changes.
- Corrections. If something is wrong or out of date, email us with the page and the detail. We correct the page and update its date.
We do not accept payment in exchange for a tool recommendation. Any sponsored or affiliate content is labelled as such, and it never changes the assessment in a guide.
